The Intermunicipal Community of Alto T\u00e2mega e Barroso (CIMAT) inaugurated, on the 24th of August, the “Bio Corner” at the Municipal Market of Chaves, a space born in the scope of the Bio Region of Alto T\u00e2mega e Barroso.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Municipal Market has now one more stand selling products every Wednesday morning. The “Canto do Bio” was inaugurated last August 24th and in it are available several products from Alto T\u00e2mega e Barroso region certified with the organic production mode.<\/p>\n

“In CIMAT we can always work in three dimensions: in a dimension of capacitation, that is, it is necessary that more and more we manage to pass to our farmers ways of developing their product and that this product has a good quality, because this will allow them to generate more income in the sale; in a dimension of organization of the sector, and this has been done through this Bio Region that constitutes the six municipalities of Alto T\u00e2mega e Barroso; and, after, in the promotion. And this last one is made this way, being present in the markets in an organized way, being able this way to reach the public”, highlighted Ramiro Gon\u00e7alves, First Executive Secretary of CIMAT, adding that “the purpose of the region is the valuation of everything that is endogenous and we succeeded in sowing this same purpose valuing the producers and the products”.<\/p>\n

According to Nuno Vaz, Mayor of Chaves, “this is the first organic agriculture space located in the Municipal Market. And, therefore, we want here to give space and possibility of growth to what is one of the emerging areas of agriculture: organic production. We want here to create a space of direct connection so that the producers of organic products from Alto T\u00e2mega may have an experience of direct selling and may also take the opportunity to sensitize other people for this way of production”.<\/p>\n

Carla Alves, Regional Director of Agriculture and Fisheries of the North, referred that the organic production “is the future of the Europe”, highlighting that this stand serves as a form of “support the producer not only in the production way, but also in the commercialization way”.<\/p>\n

In the moment were also present, among others, Orlando Alves and David Teixeira, Mayor and Vice-Mayor of Montalegre, respectively, Paula Chaves, Town Councillor of Chaves, Isabel Torres, Town Councillor of Boticas, Anselmo Martins, First Secretary of the Municipal Assembly of Chaves, Rui Lagoa, Superior Technician of the Regional Direction of Agriculture and Fisheries of the North, and Ant\u00f3nio Montalv\u00e3o, General Secretary of ADRAT – Development Association of Alto T\u00e2mega’s Region.<\/p>\n

The aim is to replicate a space like this by the other five municipalities that compose the territory – Boticas, Montalegre, Ribeira de Pena, Valpa\u00e7os and Vila Pouca de Aguiar – and the month of September will bring the “1st Forum of the Bio Region of Alto T\u00e2mega and Barroso – Path to Sustainability”, scheduled for the 13th of September, in Boticas Parque – Nature and Biodiversity.<\/p>\n

It is recalled that CIMAT was the second Bio Region of the country, with its accession happening in 2018, being the first Intermunicipal Community to be part of this international network.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
