Inspired by the verses of Ces\u00e1rio Verde \u2014 \u201cI paint pictures with letters\u201d \u2014 the artist transforms words into colour, gesture and matter.<\/p>\n<p>These are works in which colours and textures are arranged in such a way as to transform into painting the letters or signs that Ces\u00e1rio had transformed into poetry in his verses.<\/p>\n<p>In this exhibition, the poems take on a visual form, in a relationship where every painting is poetry and the two intersect without illustrating one another, revealing the visual and symbolic power of the signs that inhabit our modern world.<\/p>\n<p>Organised by: Municipality of Chaves<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>For Jo\u00e3o Vieira, the written word ceases to be merely language and becomes painting.
