As a space of memory, we have an obligation not to forget and to remember significant events in the region.<br \/>\nOn 14 January 1986, in the village of Minas da Borralha, the concessionaire requested the suspension of the Couto Mineiro da Borralha mining plan, abruptly disrupting the way of life, dynamism and development of this old mining village.<\/p>\n<p>The exhibition, entitled \u2018Minas da Borralha: the last shift\u2019, on display from 14 January at the Barroso Ecomuseum &#8211; Minas da Borralha Interpretation Centre, aims to address this event 40 years after the mine&#8217;s closure and provoke reflection on the social, economic and human impacts of this closure.
