Despite the mistakes humanity has made over time – whether through environmental destruction, violence or indifference to the pain of others – music has always reminded us of the possibility of redemption and hope.
\nIn the works of composers such as Gillingham and Maslanka, we feel a constant tension between difficulties and the search for a new consciousness. Gillingham, with his vibrant energy and harmonic challenges, and Maslanka, with his vivid and intense expression, suggest that no matter how obscured our journey, there is always the possibility of a transformation, of an awakening to what really matters.<\/p>\n
It is in this same spirit of renewal that Lu\u00eds Matos is preparing to premiere the oboe concerto by composer Mart\u00ednez Gallego. Gallego’s concerto, with its mix of innovative sounds and traditional expressions, reflects the idea that, however difficult times may be, art and music can be the vehicle for a collective awakening.<\/p>\n
