AUTUMN WALK FOR THE NATIVE FOREST<\/p>\n
The Municipality of Ribeira de Pena is promoting the Autumn Walk for the Autochthonous Forest on 23 November.<\/p>\n
The meeting point is at 9am in the Madragoso Leisure Park in Cerva.<\/p>\n
The route runs for around 6 kilometres through the forest and includes mycological observation.<\/p>\n
23 November is Autochthonous Forest Day, a date that highlights the importance of native tree species for biodiversity and the sustainability of ecosystems.<\/p>\n
These forests, adapted to the soil and local climate, provide habitat for wildlife and protect the soil from erosion, while also helping to regulate water and air quality.<\/p>\n
This initiative aims to raise awareness of the preservation and recovery of native forests, which are essential for environmental resilience, and to warn of the impacts of invasive species.<\/p>\n
