SUMMARY:Chaves | European Week of Sport
DESCRIPTION:Between 23 and 30 September, the Municipality of Chaves is marking European Sports Week with a range of activities open to the community, organised in partnership with local sports clubs and associations, with the aim of encouraging physical activity and giving people the chance to try out different sports.\nTennis, padel, chess, futsal, athletics, football, self-defence, traditional martial arts, volleyball and karate are just some of the sports on offer, allowing participants to try out different activities and choose those that best suit their interests.\nParticipation is free of charge, subject to registration with the participating clubs or associations, and is subject to the number of places available for each session. Timetables and conditions of participation are set by each organisation, and those interested should confirm their participation in advance. The discussion will be moderated by Paulo Silva Reis, a correspondent for the newspaper Record.\nIn Portugal, the initiative is coordinated by the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (I.P.), involving various organisations in the promotion of sport, physical activity and the well-being of the population.\n
