SUMMARY:Chaves l World Water Day Parade
DESCRIPTION:Chaves is marking World Water Day on 22 March with a parade of the municipality’s schoolchildren through the city’s main streets. The parade aims to draw attention to the importance of this precious liquid, calling for its sustainable use, as water is the source of life.\nNineteen hundred pre-school and primary school pupils from the municipality’s public and private schools, accompanied by their teachers and the Private Social Solidarity Institutions (IPSS), will take part in the initiative.\nThe procession will begin at 2.30pm at the Chaves Cultural Centre (the old railway station) and will travel through the streets of the city’s historic centre, ending at the People’s Fountain in the Termas de Chaves by the River Tâmega.\nThis is yet another important initiative that the municipality is promoting around the need to involve the people of Flavi in more conscious and responsible water management.\nGetting young people to pass on this message to adults, urging them to adopt even more responsible behaviour when using water, is one of the best ways of protecting this common good for everyone’s future.\n
