DESCRIPTION:On December 30, Chaves is promoting the “Corrida de São Silvestre 2023”, a road race organized by the Municipality of Chaves in collaboration with the Vila Real Athletics Association. Registration is free and must be completed by December 23rd.\nThe São Silvestre Race is an evening street race that traditionally takes place at the end of the year. It was named after the saint who is celebrated on this date. Due to the high number of participants, in Portugal the races began to spread across the calendar, taking place between December and January.\nThe initiative features a 10 km course, aimed at federated and non-federated athletes born in 2005 and earlier.\nThis race, which is free to enter, is limited to 200 participants and includes monetary prizes on the podium, as well as a participation prize of 150 euros for all participants who finish the race.\nRegistration and collection of the athlete’s kit can be done on the day itself at the Chaves Municipal Library from 9:00 am.\nMore information at https://www.chaves.pt/pages/348\nRegistration and race regulations at https://waitastart.com/SAO-SILVESTRE-CHAVES-23/\n
