SUMMARY:XII Strawberry Tree Trail
DESCRIPTION:The Strawberry Tree Trail is one of the historical events organized by the Vezeira de Fafião Association, and this year it’s in its 12th edition. It starts at the Barroso Ecomuseum, Fafião Pole, goes to Fojo do Lobo where the monument gives way to the tale, and here begins the adventure along a trail that comprises a natural path mixed with rural excellence over nine and a half kilometres. Beech trees, oak trees, chestnut trees, and, of course, strawberry trees are part of the native splendor of this area. This year we decided to stick to our origins and follow the usual route as in previous editions. Dornas is one of the most interesting areas for our village, it’s in this area that the Fafião merges into the Cávado at the end of its fourteen-kilometre course. The possibility of finding delicious mushrooms along the trail is almost a certainty, as well as the delicious Medronhos that this year have already begun to sprout throughout these native forests and which give this event its name. Halfway along the trail, you’ll be treated to a unique, head-on view of the Fecha de Barjas, one of the region’s most famous waterfalls. Don’t miss out on this fantastic event, which will end with one of the 𝙢𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙨 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙖𝙞𝙨 𝙜𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙤𝙨 made in a pot and served warm on a plate.\nOur events in 2023 will be 𝙥𝙖𝙜𝙤𝙨 𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙫𝙞𝙖𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚, so we ask that the amount be transferred and validated by sending an email containing proof of bank transfer to 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙤𝙨𝙫𝙚𝙯𝙚𝙞𝙧𝙖@𝙜𝙢𝙖𝙞𝙡.𝙘𝙤𝙢.
